Brother Mickey’s Workshop- “Intersection of Art and Faith – The Eleventh Step In Recovery”
Friday, July 27th – 6:00-9pm.
Volunteers needed to set up chairs, art supplies for participants, greet participants, distribute food (pizza & drinks provided) and light clean up.
Mindfulness Meditation Series
Tuesday Nights in August –8/14, 8/21 and 8/28; Greeter shift from 6:00-8:00pm.
Support the pilot series Mindfulness Meditation for Recovery with Mike Govoni. One to two volunteers needed for set up, greeting, clean up and lock up tasks.
Monthly Community Meeting Help
Tuesday, August 7th- 6:30- 8:30pm
Help set up and prepare for the Center’s popular monthly Community Meeting! Arrange chairs, greet members, distribute program and volunteer sign-up sheets, read the mission statement.
Special Event Help!
Recovery Rocks! Benefit Concert
Thursday, August 23rd, - 5:00-10pm (shifts TBA) at Bulman Marine, 24 Jericho Road. Scituate.
Our annual fundraiser is slated to be a big hit this year! This substance-free music festival features three live bands, a raw bar, food trucks and more, all under a rocking tent on Scituate Harbor. Helping hands are needed prior to the event to spread PR, flyer, collect raffle donations and event prep. Volunteers are needed in shifts for a variety of tasks during the event.
Sunrise Vigil for International Overdose Awareness Day
Friday, August 31st at Scituate Lighthouse.
Volunteers needed to order/pick up coffee; arrive at 5:00am to set up tent. Prepare materials. Barb Favuzzi will lead a planning meeting in late July at the Center (date/ time TBA).
Shatterproof Rise Up Against Addiction 5K Walk/Run
Sunday, September 23rd.
Volunteers are needed to represent SSPRC and staff our resource table in the Community Village at Franklin Park in Boston! (Time TBA).
Project Work Needed!
Recovery Month Planning Committee
South Shore Peer Recovery will be participating in the statewide advocacy day in Boston, and will plan other special opportunities for our community to get involved. Seeking a liaison to work with MOAR and SSPR staff to organize peers for the Boston trip and other activities!
Center Policies and Procedures Committee
We are working with an outside project manager to get our policies in order! Peer input is imperative to ensure that our systems work for our community. Please consider providing your input at an in-person workshop (will be planned for September), and/or by reviewing manual drafts.
