In 2014, a group of community members were motivated to offer their lived experience to others struggling with addiction on the South Shore. Working with other community organizations like Scituate FACTS, it became clear that recovery support needed a coalition of its own. Volunteers organized to offer education and support opportunities on a regular basis. After receiving 501c3 non-profit status in the fall of 2015, South Shore Peer Recovery opened a small business office in Scituate Harbor to continue to expand services.
In March 2018, we opened a Recovery Community Center in the heart of the community - where peers in recovery, their family members and friends can actively work on their recovery and support each other.
Please visit us at 51 Cole Parkway in Scituate Harbor! We are open Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Expanded hours, coming soon!
South Shore Peer Recovery is a volunteer-driven operation. We need feedback and participation from the whole community to be successful. Please join us in creating a recovery ready South Shore.
